How it works

  • Click the warning signs Anything that looks wrong: who it's from, the wording, a phone number, an attachment, or what a caller asks you to do.
  • Open the link Most emails and texts have a link that opens a web page, and invoices open from the attachment. Check the address bar and what the page asks for, just as you should in real life. Nothing in the quiz goes anywhere, so it's safe.
  • Scam or genuine? Some are real, so don't click everything. Choose It's a scam or It's genuine when you've decided. Signing in on a fake page counts as being caught.
  • Score points 2 points for the right answer and a point for each warning sign you find. You lose a point for each normal part you click. Each round has 10 questions, always including a text and a phone call.
  • Learn as you go Every question ends with what gave it away, or why it's real. For more, read how to spot a phishing email.
