Trojan Horse Viruses

Trojans are a type of malware that tricks you into downloading it. That's why it's important to only download from trusted sites and be careful what you click on. If you are unsure then it's best to ask someone that knows. Sites that offer free games etc may give you more than you expect.

Spyware

Spyware sits silantly in the background monitors your activity, and steals sensitive information like bank details and passwords. It then and sends it on to criminals that can use it to steal money or scam you.

Browser Hijacks

Browser Hijacks take over your Internet searches, sends you notifications, changes your home page, inserts pop-ups or redirect you to pages you didn’t even want to visit. These are ofen caused by browser extentions.

Ransomware

Ransomware is a type of malware that threatens to publish or blocks access to data. This is usually done by encrypting it. The ransom demand often comes with a deadline. If the victim doesn’t pay in time, the data is gone forever or the ransom increases.

Botnets

Botnets or “robot network,” are networks of infected computers under the control of single attacking parties using command-and-control servers. Botnets are highly versatile and adaptable, able to maintain resilience through redundant servers and by using infected computers to relay traffic. Botnets are often the armies behind today's distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.
